Benefiting society through translational research

The University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) is collaborating with Deerfield Management to accelerate the commercialization of therapeutics developed at UIC. West Loop Innovations will support UIC's innovative translational research and leverage Deerfield's expertise in accelerating state-of-the-art drug development.

West Loop-funded projects aim to cure life-altering diseases with novel therapeutics. Deerfield will invest up to $65 million in translational research funding to advance promising UIC discoveries.

Selected projects, vetted through a joint steering committee, are funded by Deerfield through West Loop and executed by a collaborative team of university scientists and Deerfield experts.
